  1. Connect safety circuits to the NC contact (11-12 or 21-22). Contacts are normally closed when the key is inserted into the switch. Normally open contacts are for indicating circuits - they are not to be used in the safety circuit.
  2. Mount the switch and key using tamper-resistant fasteners (not supplied). Use washers to prevent fasteners from pulling through switch mounting holes.
  3. The switch head has 2 key openings and can be rotated in 4 x 90 degree steps allowing 8 different key entering positions. To rotate the head insert the key, remove the 4 attachment screws, rotate head into the proper position and reinsert the attachment screws. See Figure 1.
Head screw tightening torque = 7 inch lb. (0.8 Nm)
  4. Always insert the dust protection plug into the unused port in the key head.
  5. Do not use the switch as a mechanical stop.
  6. Protect the key entrance from dust and dirt.
  7. Verify proper safety switch operation before placing the machine in service.
  8. To prevent accidental closing of the door, padlocks can be placed through the hole in the switch key. Maximum lock shank diameter = 1/4" (6 mm). See Figure 2.
